When a cherished family member or friend passes away, finding the right celebrant to help plan and conduct the funeral service is crucial. As your chosen celebrant, I am dedicated to crafting a personalised service that honours the life and passions of your loved one. I take pride in doing this with professionalism and care.
Every funeral service that I conduct is tailored to reflect the individuality of the person being remembered. Together, we will select music, poetry, prose, or prayers that hold significance, whether rooted in religious tradition or entirely secular. I am committed to accommodating your preferences and this might involve a traditional ceremony or a more contemporary approach.
Should you choose a fully guided service or wish to involve family and friends in its delivery, I am here to support you every step of the way.
Your Funeral Director will reach out to me on your behalf. Sharing my contact details with them is a good place to start. I will then coordinate with your Funeral Director to gather essential details before meeting with you.

Cremation or Burial?

If you are considering arrangements for a funeral, you may have already contemplated whether a cremation or burial aligns with your wishes or those of your loved one. Conversations with your selected Funeral Director will likely involve exploring these preferences.

Whilst your loved one may have expressed their desires, it is also understandable if they have not. In such cases, the decision rests with you and there is no definitive right or wrong choice. With the emergence of natural burial grounds, the array of options has expanded considerably. Your Funeral Director will guide you through the available choices in your area. I am happy to chat about this too.

In some instances, your loved one may have specified a preference for Direct Cremation, without a traditional funeral service.
If you wish to commemorate their life, you might consider organising a Memorial Service instead which offers a meaningful opportunity for remembrance and tribute.
Memorial Service

Opting for a Memorial Service without the presence of the coffin offers a broader spectrum of venue possibilities, allowing for a more flexible and bespoke commemoration of your loved one's life. Without the physical presence of the coffin, the service can
take place in a variety of settings beyond traditional funeral homes or places of worship. You might choose a serene outdoor location, such as a beautiful garden, park, or beach.
This means that you would be surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. Alternatively, you could select a cherished indoor venue, such as a community centre, art gallery or even the comfort of your own home. From experience, this provides a warm and
intimate setting for remembrance.

This flexibility in venue choice enables you to tailor the Memorial Service to reflect your loved one's personality, interests, and special memories. It allows for a more creative and unique approach to celebrating their life.

It is important that the atmosphere and surroundings resonate deeply with both you and your guests.

A Musical Farewell

My expertise extends beyond crafting meaningful ceremonies. With a background as a professional singer, I can also bring an added layer of warmth and resonance to the service. I understand that music has a unique ability to touch the soul and evoke cherished memories and there is an option of live singing both at the Service and at the Wake.

Languages
​
I recognise the importance of language in expressing emotions and cultural nuances. That's why I strive to create a seamless and meaningful experience for you and your guests. A selection of languages can be incorporated into the Service. Conducting a full service in fluent French is also feasible, if this suits your family.
